Monday 8th December

Bicycle: Hire a jolly orange bike and take a leisurely tour of San Telmo at your own pace. (Bicicleta Naranja, Pasaje Giuffra 308, from $30).

Literature: Visit the house of celebrated Argentine feminist writer Victoria Ocampo (d.1979) at Villa Ocampo. (Elortondo 1837, 3-7pm, $10).

Living chess: Somewhat different to the board game you might have played as a child, the ‘Ajedrez Viviente’ at Parque Lezama’s amphitheatre involves tango dancers in the place of chess pieces on a 10m by 10m chessboard. Last chance to see it today! (Avenida Brasil 200, 6pm).

For the boys: Ogle the gorgeous hot pants-wearing waitresses at Hooters in Puerto Madero. The drinks are over-priced but some might say that’s not important. (Alicia Moreau de Justo 840).

Beer: If you are the adventurous type and fancy trying some homebrewed beer, or just want a break from Quilmes, go and sample an inventive array at Cossab in the tango barrio of Boedo. (Carlos Calvo 4199).
