Sightsee: Walk along one of the widest avenues in the world, with 16 lanes this busy road contains the city’s phallic, cement spike: the obelisk, it’s definitely worth seeing and people watching around. Av 9 de Julio and Corrientes.

Food: Keep the belly full at D’oro. The restaurant has a simple selection of pastas and ravioli amongst other Italian dishes. All served in an open kitchen, and also with a bar for a drink it’s a good spot for lunch or dinner. Perú 159. Call 4323 6959 for reservations.

Art: The Cultural Art Centre of Spain is a space which ensures the survival of Iberian-American culture. This basement centre has a great art, a library, pencil drawings and even a section which displays wacky Mexican creatures. Florida 989.

Bar: Go down to Plaza Armenia in Palermo and choose a bar for yourself. On the weekends this square is full of people, drinks and has a very buzzing atmosphere. It’s a great way to enjoy the weekend and meet people.

Club: Kika is the place to be on a Saturday night, open till 6am in the morning its definitely one for those with stamina, it has a mixture of pop and trance. Doors open from 1:30am Honduras 5339
