Senate Debates Subte Transfer and Central Bank Reform

The senate is currently in session to debate the transfer of the subte and amend the Central Bank Charter.

Proposed bills to validate the transfer of management of the subte, the premetro, the Puerto Madero tram and the 33 bus networks will also be under discussion.

Rolando Bermejo, the President of the Committee on Infrastructure, has validated the subte bill put forward on January 3 between the government and Buenos Aires mayor, Mauricio Macri, who later backtracked on the agreement.

The ruling party, Frente para la Victoria (FpV), has the majority needed to approve the initiative, leaving the executive branch time to focus on the Central Bank Charter. It already has the preliminary approval from deputies and received a favourable opinion yesterday in the Senate.
