President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner spoke to the United Nations today about the Middle East, Argentine economics and the Falkland Islands.
The president echoed the statement by The Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) which stated “Argentina can not reject Iran’s offer to have an open dialogue.” She asserted that dialogue should be “constructive, sincere and have results.”
President Fernández de Kirchner also pushed for the incorporation of another Muslim state, Palestine as the “194th nation of the United Nations,” adding, “This type of ignorance will not strengthen peace in the area, it only gives excuses for international terrorism.” She further stated it is a “false argument” to claim that the exclusion of Palestine from the UN is beneficial for Israel. President Fernández de Kirchner also said the UN Security Council should eliminate the “permanent membership and veto power” of countries that are members today.
Transitioning into economics, President Fernández de Kirchner called for the need to establish clear and defined rules for combating financial speculation because it seems to “have no limits” and is affecting currencies and economies. She insisted that it is essential to ensure that “financial resources are poured into the economy.”
President Fernández de Kirchner did not fail to bring up the controversy over the Falkland Islands, threatening to suspend all flights into the territory if the situation remains the same. She expressed to the audience that “The question of sovereignty over the Falkland Islands is a trial by fire for the UN.”

Well, it is needed to make clear that recently United Kingdom, has been threatenning to Argentina, by making military excercises very close to our territory.
It is also needed to make clear, that the queen is the head of the state, and therefore the head of the armed forces in the United Kingdom, and the small detail is that nobody has ever voted for her.
Alike, Cristina who was voted for more than one half of argentinians.
Jose Luis, you just display your ignorance. Nobody needs to vote for the Queen. She has no executive powers. Your president, on the other hand, does have executive powers so it would be extraordinary if she was not democratically elected, or perhaps not considering the propensity for dictatorship Argentina has has in the last 100 years or so.
Oh, and those military exercises have been going on every year since 1982. It’s amusing how it long it has taken Argentina to notice.
