Honduras: Resistance Party Approves Name Change

The National Front of Honduran Popular Resistance (FNRP) approved its new political freedom party on Sunday. This is after an initiative from the ex-Honduran president, Manuel Zelaya.
The new name will be used in the presidential polls in November 2013.

The decision to rename the party was taken after a political committee and co-ordination meeting of The National Front of Popular Resistance.

This is the third time that the Resistance Front has met to name the party. Last June, the Honduran Resistance approved the Popular Resistance Front as a political party. However, this name wasn’t passed by the electoral court.

Previously it couldn’t register with its FNRP identification because another political group had a similar name.
