Parque de la Ciudad

July 2008 – On the eve of the school holidays, carousel chairs hang empty in the once bustling Parque de la Ciudad, Buenos Aires. The amusement park, whose attractions included roller coasters and a giant tower, originally opened in 1982 as the city’s first large theme park, yet was closed in 2003 until last year after being deemed unsafe. Despite being opened again, its future is still in question and its rides stands idle.
