Argentina is a country which lives and breathes its football with fans demanding entertainment and excitement throughout, and this year was no exception. As 2008 drew to a close, Boca Juniors were the ones celebrating another league championship as they came out winners in this season’s Apertura.

I entered the church late: mass already underway, the choir already crooning an unknown vesper and the priest heading to the pulpit. This, however, wasn’t your typical religious service as, rather than a traditional Catholic church as one would expect in Argentina, this was the church of Argentine football legend Diego Maradona.
