Goodbye to the ‘Father of Democracy’

Thousands gathered on the streets of Buenos Aires this past week to mourn the passing of former president Raúl Alfonsín who died on 31st March at the age of 82. He had been suffering from lung cancer, which was further complicated by pneumonia. The crowds presented countless bunches of flowers and waved posters saying “thank you” as they chanted his name.

Buddy Bears Come to Buenos Aires

If you go down to Plaza San Martín today you’re sure of a big surprise! One hundred and forty big bear surprises and all of them in disguise! The colourful Buddy Bear Project displays dozens of bears, each representing a different country.
