As I arrived at the empty venue, I was struck with panic. Did I have the wrong time or did I have the wrong address? I felt slightly relieved when I saw the posters for the concert lying on a desk. This was the place, but where was everyone?

Thousands gathered on the streets of Buenos Aires this past week to mourn the passing of former president Raúl Alfonsín who died on 31st March at the age of 82. He had been suffering from lung cancer, which was further complicated by pneumonia. The crowds presented countless bunches of flowers and waved posters saying “thank you” as they chanted his name.

If you are looking for some ups and downs, then take a trip to Parque de la Costa in Tigre to experience breakneck roller coasters and bumper boats. Apparent Argentine slackness with regards to health and safety measures makes the rides even more stomach-churning!

If you go down to Plaza San Martín today you’re sure of a big surprise! One hundred and forty big bear surprises and all of them in disguise! The colourful Buddy Bear Project displays dozens of bears, each representing a different country.
