Following on from ASIMETRICOS, the collaborative exhibition by Cabaio and Nasa in graffitimundo’s UNION Gallery, the pair have teamed up to paint a mural in Colegiales. UNION brought the two artists together to capture the spirit of collaboration that permeates the street art scene, but with the idea of transferring it to a gallery setting.
Although each artist has his own distinctive style, they were able to find common ground deep within their respective works and to use this as a starting point from which the rest of the exhibition, both in the individual and collaborative works, was generated. The mural is the final piece of the puzzle, as the artists come full circle and apply what they learned from the challenge of working together indoors to the streets.
The mural is split between the two artists on a black background. Nasa has employed his trademark black and white geometries on one half, while Cabaio’s characteristic stencils provide the perfect foil on the other half.
ASIMETRICOS will run until 1st June, with open visits to the gallery being held on Fridays between 3pm and 6pm. UNION Gallery is at Costa Rica 5929.
