Club 69 at Niceto Club


Niceto Club’s regular Thursday “party with a sense of humour” ushers in the long weekend with great local DJs “The Unstable Company” entertainment troupe. Expect transvestites and break-dancers at this classic Buenos Aires night. Fun Machine will play in Room B. Niceto Vega 5510, from midnight, entry free until 1am, $30 until 2am, $40 until 3am and $50 after 3am. If you are lucky enough to be on the guest list, the price is $20 until 2am and $30 after. Strictly over-18s only, ID may be required on the door.

Luis Tomasello Exhibition


Luis Tomasello’s exhibition of more than seventy abstract objects. Some pieces are designed to produce certain subtle and hyper-sensitive ocular vibrations in the viewer and others play on the gamma movement, the internal tension of forms, all explored on a flat square surface. Sala Cronopios, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Junin 1930, 7pm-9pm, from 30th April to 31st May 2009.

Youth trip to Mendoza with International Student Network 2009


International Student Network 2009 invite you to spend one of two long weekends with them in the beautiful Argentine region of Mendoza. The excursion includes return bus trip, two nights’ accommodation, a day trip into the mountains and visiting wineries. The cost is $770 if you choose to stay in a shared room in a hostel (breakfast included) and $980 if you choose a three star hotel with breakfast and dinner included. Cine al Sur – Cinema dedicated to La Boca and Barracas


In collaboration with the International Festival of Human Rights Cinema, the Sustainable Tourism Project in La Boca and Barracas presents Cine al Sur, “a unique opportunity to get closer to historic sites and areas in the southern barrios, which are notable for their cultural and artistic practices”. Cine al Sur includes talks from directors, guided visits, audio-visual workshops, photographic exhibitions, musical shows. All activities are free and open to all the public. Cine al Sur begins 25th April at 7pm at Cine Teatro Brown (Av. Almirante Brown 1375, La Boca), with the presentation of the award-winning Spanish film “Nomadak” and finishes on 7th June in the Circuito Cultural Barracas (Avenida Iriarte 2165) with the 6pm showing of Italian film “I moti spontanei”.
