Boedo Libre Exhibition


The Boedo group is launching its first painting exhibition in 3 years on 3rd June at 7pm in the Casal de Catalunya, Chacabuco 863. Fifty six artists from the group each have a piece on show. The exhibition continues until 15th and is free from 3pm til 8.30pm Monday to Saturday.

‘Inside Look’ Photography Exhibition


To mark the 11th Human Rights Film Festival, Italian photographer Valerio Bispuri is showing his work in the Centro Cultural Recoleta, Junín 1930. His exhibition, ‘Inside Look’, which is in room 13 until 16th June, includes images taken in prisons in Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Mendoza. For more information, write to prensa@derhumalc.org.ar

‘Harmonic Distortion’: Documentary on Community Radio


La Tribu, alternative community radio station in Buenos Aires, hosts the premier of ‘Harmonic Distortion’, a documentary about 12 community radio stations in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. The showing begins at 8pm at La Tribu, Lambare 873.

Proyecto Cartele Exhibit


In concordance with the launching of their new website, Proyecto Cartele is displaying the majority of its archived photos and some more recent work at an exhibition running from 4th May to 26th June. International Film Festival on Human Rights


The 11th International Film Festival on Human Rights comes to Buenos Aires on 27th May and runs until 10th June. The DerHumALC organisation presents films a variety of “social film”, “committed to the progress of the fundamental rights of individuals and communities”, including investigations into and documentaries on native culture, gender issues and madness. Cine al Sur – Cinema dedicated to La Boca and Barracas


In collaboration with the International Festival of Human Rights Cinema, the Sustainable Tourism Project in La Boca and Barracas presents Cine al Sur, “a unique opportunity to get closer to historic sites and areas in the southern barrios, which are notable for their cultural and artistic practices”. Cine al Sur includes talks from directors, guided visits, audio-visual workshops, photographic exhibitions, musical shows. All activities are free and open to all the public. Cine al Sur begins 25th April at 7pm at Cine Teatro Brown (Av. Almirante Brown 1375, La Boca), with the presentation of the award-winning Spanish film “Nomadak” and finishes on 7th June in the Circuito Cultural Barracas (Avenida Iriarte 2165) with the 6pm showing of Italian film “I moti spontanei”.

International Festival of Human Rights Cinema


The 11th “Festival Internacional DerHumALC Cine de derechos humanos” is in session in Buenos Aires from 27th May to 10th June. A timetable of screenings is available at http://www.derhumalc.org.ar/en/#. The three venues involved are Cine Gaumont, Alianza Francesa and Centro Cultural Recoleta.
