The Indy Eye: 2012 Global Marijuana March

The global movement to legalize marijuana and bring an end to the drug war had a big push this past weekend on Saturday 5th May with marches all around the world, including Buenos Aires.  Smokers, growers, and even politicians gathered at Plaza de Mayo to march through the streets of Buenos Aires, ending up at Congreso to call for the end of the criminalization of the green weed.  Photographers Luján Agusti, Pedro Lampertti, and Patricio Murphy braved the clouds of smoke and the contact-high to bring our readers photographs from Saturday’s march.

The Indy Eye: Global Marijuana March

Saturday 7th May, one of the many Global Marijuana Marches was held in Buenos Aires. Sponsored by the magazine THC, 15,000 mellow protestors converged at the Plaza de Mayo and marched down Av de Mayo to Congreso a kilometre away. Through the haze of marijuana smoke, people asked the government to Legalize It – ya! Photographers Joe Rondone and Beatrice Murch were there to capture the mood.
