The lack of hard currency is annoying people everywhere in Argentina. ATMs are closed, and people are standing in lines waiting for the few that work. However, the real pain is the dearth of coins. It makes taking the bus almost impossible and buying small purchases difficult. Photographer Beatrice Murch documents the interesting signage stores display to encourage people to part with their coins. Smart shoppers play dumb and don’t hand them over in the hopes of gaining those precious centavos.
